SEE WHY, NOT JUST WHAT
Every score comes with the reasoning: which ingredients earned credit, which lost points, and why. Named meat near the top of the list is a good sign. Artificial colors, unnamed by-products and chemical preservatives are not. You can read the whole method in the app.

THE SAME PRODUCT ALWAYS GETS THE SAME SCORE
Scan a bag today and again next year and you'll get the same answer. Scores don't quietly drift, and they don't change because you asked twice.

TOXIC INGREDIENT WARNINGS
Xylitol, onion, grapes and raisins are checked on every scan and flagged
immediately, no matter how good the rest of the label looks.

FREE RECALL ALERTS
If a product you've scanned gets recalled, you get told. Free, permanently. A
recall means a product could actually harm your pet — that is not something to
put behind a subscription.

ALLERGY FLAGS FOR YOUR PETS
Add your dog or cat and the ingredients they react to, and FurMetric will flag
them on every scan.

CAN'T FIND A PRODUCT? ADD IT IN TWO PHOTOS
Photograph the front of the bag and the ingredient panel. FurMetric reads the
label, you check it's right, and it's scored on the spot — and it's there for the
next person who scans it. Products we add this way come from a photograph of the actual bag — never copied from a website, never typed from memory.

WE'D RATHER SAY "WE DON'T HAVE IT" THAN GUESS
If a label can't be read clearly, FurMetric refuses to score it and asks for a
better photo. If a product isn't in the app yet, it says so. You will never get a
made-up answer.

WHAT WE DON'T DO
No ads. No sponsored placement — a brand cannot buy a better score. No affiliate links: we earn nothing when you buy something we scored well. No account to create. No tracking. Your scan history, your pets and their allergy flags stay on your phone.

FurMetric gives you information about ingredients. It is not veterinary advice —
always talk to your vet about your pet's diet and health.

What’s new

Your score now counts up when a scorecard opens, and the phone gives a small tap when a barcode is read, plus a stronger warning buzz if a product contains a toxic ingredient.

History now tells you when FurMetric is watching your scanned products for recalls, and offers to turn notifications on if they're off.
