About this app

Every chain, bangle, ring and coin your family owns, on record. GoldKeeper is a private register for household gold: weight, purity, HUID, bill photo, who owns it and where it is kept. It shows what it is all worth at today's gold rate. No account, no login, and your register stays on your phone.

WHAT YOU RECORD Name each piece ("Amma's long chain"), its type, purity by BIS fineness (999, 995, 916 22K, 875, 750 18K, 585, 375), gross and stone weight, the 6-character HUID, where you bought it and what you paid, a photo of the piece and its bill, the owner, who it is promised to, and where it is: at home, in a bank locker, pledged, or with a relative. Weights in grams, tola or sovereign (pavan).

WHAT IT IS WORTH TODAY GoldKeeper updates the international gold spot rate in rupees twice a day, or you can enter your jeweller's 22K or 24K rate. It shows total value, fine gold, a breakdown by purity, and how your gold has moved over time. The spot rate excludes import duty and GST, and the app always labels it as spot.

A LEDGER FOR EVERY PIECE Record gifts in and out, pledges and releases, sales, lending and returns, moves between home and the locker, and exchanges. Each entry updates where the piece is now.

GOLD YOU HAVE PLEDGED List every piece pledged with a bank or NBFC, with the lender, amount, interest and due date, and see accrued interest at a glance. Reminders arrive three days before a due date and on the day (Pro).

TOOLS FOR THE JEWELLERY SHOP Fair price for a piece, check a jeweller's quote for hidden making charges, what your old gold should fetch in an exchange, a unit converter, and a hallmark guide to read the BIS stamp and HUID. GST and hallmarking charges are worked in.

GOALS FOR THE FAMILY Set a gold goal for a daughter's wedding or a son's future, and pieces promised to them count towards it.

REPORTS AND BACKUP (PRO) An itemised valuation report as a PDF for insurance, a locker inventory or a will, an Excel export of items and the ledger, and sharing to WhatsApp. Back up the whole register, photos included, to a file you keep, and restore it on a new phone.
