About this app

Turn two Android phones into a private baby monitor.

BabyLink uses one phone as TRANSMITTER (stays with the baby) and another as RECEIVER (stays with you), on the same Wi-Fi. No cloud, no account, no subscription. Nothing leaves your home.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Open the app on both phones and choose Transmitter or Receiver
2. On the transmitter, tap Start monitoring
3. On the receiver, scan the QR code — live video starts right away

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• LIVE video in 144p, 240p, 360p and 480p — switch quality without reconnecting
• Switch front/back camera mid-stream, without dropping
• Listen to the room whenever you want with Enable audio — Mute releases the microphone instantly
• Take on-demand photos of the room whenever needed
• See who is watching: "Streaming • N watching"
• 1-tap reconnect: after the first pairing, no QR needed again

REAL PRIVACY
• No servers, no analytics, no ads, no trackers
• No account, no email, no sign-up
• Photos, audio and video are never saved to files and never sent to the internet — they go directly and encrypted to your other phone
• Saving a photo to the gallery only happens if you explicitly ask for it

SECURITY
• Pairing via QR code + 6-digit code that expires in 10 minutes
• Everything encrypted with AES-256-GCM (photos, audio and video)
• Permanent bond with a 256-bit secret for code-free reconnect
• Protection against repeated pairing attempts

GOOD TO KNOW
• Both phones must be on the same Wi-Fi. Works on Android 10 and up.
• The camera only turns on when YOU start a session with the app open and visible. A persistent notification always shows the active session.
• With the screen locked, some devices cut off the camera due to Android limitations. In that case the app tells you honestly on screen instead of pretending it works.
• BabyLink is a parenting aid and does not replace supervision by a responsible adult.

PERMISSIONS — WHAT THEY ARE FOR
• Camera: live video and photos on the transmitter; scanning the QR on the receiver
• Microphone: hearing the room, only while you ask to listen
• Notifications: showing monitoring is active and letting you stop it
• Network/Wi-Fi: connecting both phones on the local network
