To get the fan connected originally you have to use a 2.4g wifi network, it doesn't work on 5g. Once connected to the fan wifi network on your phone, go to your web browser to open the settings. There you can add your home wifi network to the device. I think the app works great overall. My only disappointment is not having any kind of fan status indicator. I want to know if the fan is running or not!

I've followed the instructions multiple times but still can't connect the app to the attic fan. It keeps saying that the device is not found or there are network errors. I've installed at least 75 similar IoT devices, where you first connect to the device's WiFi (GAF) before connecting it to your home WiFi after entering your password. However, it simply won't connect to the device!

Buggy to first get set up, have to connect multiple times, and forget the network to enter the WiFi settings. Once set up, it seemed to work fine, but PLEASE ADD A STATUS INDICATOR ON THE APP, so you can actually see if the fan is on or not! Update 5/20/25 there have not been any updates to this app in a year. Is anyone at GAF looking at this stuff? App still buggy, have to power cycle it when it stops working. Update 5/30/25 fan has basically stopped coming on, unless you power cycle it!
