"Koehon" is a two-way voice translation app designed for use in environments disconnected from the internet.
■ In these situations:
・For conversations with foreign individuals/clients
・For explaining rehabilitation and gathering daily updates
・For communication during home nursing/home care visits
・For confirming detailed situations with care managers, etc.
・When internet-connected devices cannot be used for security reasons
■ Main Features
【Two-way Translation】
You can select and register two languages from three languages: Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese. No matter which language you speak in, it will be translated into the other language and read aloud (both Japanese to foreign language and foreign language to Japanese are supported by the same app).
【On-device (Offline) Processing is the Basic Approach】
Voice recognition and translation are processed primarily on the device. While there is a network-based voice recognition function, it is turned off by default and only used if explicitly permitted in the settings screen. The currently selected method of recognition is always displayed at the top of the screen.
Due to its reliance on offline processing, the range of languages supported for speech recognition, translation, and text-to-speech varies depending on the device's capabilities.
[Medical/Nursing Care Terminology Dictionary (611 words)]
This app includes a built-in dictionary of specialized terms related to rehabilitation, medicine, and nursing care. Terms can be freely added and edited.
[Features for Easier Conversation]
- Pressing the other person's button while the translation is being read aloud will immediately stop the reading and begin listening.
- You can tap the translation to re-read it at any time (🔊 icon displayed).
- Conversation history is not saved by default (it disappears when the app is closed and does not mix with information from the next person). Saving can be toggled in the settings.
- You can delete all conversation history at once using the "Clear Conversation History" button at the bottom of the screen.
■ Important Notes
This app is an auxiliary tool to assist with conversations. Do not use the translation results of this app alone as the basis for making diagnoses, treatment decisions, or confirming important information such as drug names, numerical values, or left/right orientations. Do not use this app in emergencies or situations requiring life-saving. For details, please check the "Terms of Use" within the app.
