About this game

The twelve-bead board game played across Pakistan and India for generations.
12 Goti, 12 Tehni, Bara Tehni, Bara Goti, Bead 12 or simply 12 Beads — now on your phone.
Free, online, and played against real people.

Also written 12 Mar, or "12 goti wala game" — the same board, whatever it was called where you learned it.

NEW TO IT? LEARN IN NINE LESSONS

You do not need anyone to teach you. A step-by-step path walks you through every rule with a robot coach, in ENGLISH or URDU, and five of the nine lessons are played rather than read. Most people are playing properly inside ten minutes.

TWELVE BEADS EACH. ONE BOARD. NO LUCK.

Every bead is worth something. Two Tigers at 3 points, three Bears at 2, seven Wolves at 1 — nineteen points sitting on the board from the first move. Capture your opponent's beads by jumping them, protect your own, and the score tells you exactly where you stand while you play.

There is no dice and no draw. A match is fifteen minutes, shared between both players. Take longer than thirty seconds over a move and it costs you a point — and another point for every further thirty seconds, however long you think about it. Go silent for three minutes and the match goes to your opponent, whatever the reason.

When the clock runs out the BOARD decides, never the timer: the higher standing wins, and if the two are level, whoever captured last.

PLAY SOMEONE REAL

Tap Online Match and you are matched with a player near your ranking. Your points are the sum of what you actually score — not a rating that moves on somebody else's formula.

Search any player by name or by their player number, look at their record, and challenge them directly.

TOURNAMENTS

Enter a bracket, pay the entry in coins, and play your way to the final. Rounds start at an announced time, so you know exactly when to come back. In the first round the highest-ranked entrants sit out; from the second round on, every round is full. Win coins and take a place on the trophy shelf.

TALK WHILE YOU PLAY

Chat is open to every player, right there under the board — tap a quick emoji, or one of the set phrases. Every one of those phrases is SPOKEN OUT LOUD on both phones, in Urdu and English, with a speaker button to silence them if you would rather play quietly.

WATCH THE GOOD ONES

Anyone can watch a live match, react with emoji, and follow an appointed commentator speaking to the whole audience.

PRACTICE FREELY, EVEN OFFLINE

Play the computer at Easy, Medium or Hard with no internet at all, or pass one phone between two people. Practice is never ranked and never recorded — warm up as much as you like.

MAKE IT YOURS

Sixteen board themes, ten avatars, a player number of your own, and your country's flag beside your name.

BUILT TO BE FAIR

Every match is replayed and scored on our servers when it ends. Your ranking is written there, never by the app on your phone, so a modified build cannot award itself a single point.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

• Coins are virtual. They buy tournament entry and gifts to other players, and nothing else. They do not convert to money, and there is no cash prize — not now and not later.
• You need an internet connection for online matches and tournaments. The lessons and practice work offline.
• Android only — there is no PC or iPhone version.

Free to play. No ads.
