M'Cheyne Bible Reading

About this app

Robert Murray M'Cheyne drew up this calendar in 1842 for his congregation in Dundee: four passages a day, carrying a reader through the Old Testament once and the New Testament and the Psalms twice in a year.

This app does one thing. Open it, and today's four passages are there. Tap one, and read it.

• The complete 1842 M'Cheyne calendar, all 365 days
• The full King James Version, built into the app
• Works entirely offline — it never touches the network
• No account and no sign-in
• No ads
• Nothing is tracked, counted, or collected

There are no streaks to keep, no progress bars to fill and no settings to configure. The app shows what the calendar appoints for the day and gets out of the way.

Step back a day if you have fallen behind. That is the only control there is.

The Bible text is the King James Version.
