GAMETRAPP: Escape from Poseidon is a serious game designed to improve your skills in post-editing machine translation and writing scientific abstracts in American English. The game, currently awaiting registration, is the result of the R&D project "App for training in post-editing of neural machine translation through gamification in professional environments" (GAMETRAPP) (reference TED2021-129789BI00/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR).

As a player, you will assume the role of a "gametrapper," an explorer tasked with identifying, correcting, and optimizing texts generated by machine translation systems. Through progressive challenges, you will learn to recognize common errors, improve terminological accuracy, and refine the linguistic quality of scientific abstracts.

What will you find in the game?

5 initial tests focused on scientific writing, critical use of machine translation, and post-editing. These missions will prepare you for your journey to the planet Posediton.

Once there, the game evolves into a virtual escape room where you must overcome 5 themed worlds, each associated with:

A different field of knowledge.

A specific section of the scientific abstract.

To advance, you'll need to correctly complete all the post-editing exercises. Each mistake means the loss of one of the planet's adorable inhabitants: the Poseditonians.

Each world culminates in a final puzzle or challenge, designed to test your knowledge and problem-solving skills under pressure.
