About this app

ATEX Scan is an application designed to facilitate the reading of ATEX equipment markings, compliant with European Directive 2014/34/EU.

It works for ATEX Gas and Dust equipment.

By scanning your marking plate (in compliance with the applicable rules for the area), it will automatically provide you with the zone and product type in which your equipment can be installed, the associated equipment marking, and indicate whether specific conditions of use must be applied.

The application will also indicate the Maximum Surface Temperature (MST) of your device as well as its protection mode.

The certification marking by notified bodies has also been integrated into the application, which can retrieve your certification number.

If photography is not permitted in the area, you can also manually enter your information into the application to obtain a transcription of the marking.

The ATEX Scan application also includes a tool for performing intrinsic safety loop calculations by automatically managing your unit conversions.
The purpose of this tool is to allow you to define the maximum permissible lengths to avoid recharging the loop between your intrinsic safety transmitter and receiver.
