Gebeta simplifies financial tracking by eliminating the need for manual data entry. The app parses transaction notification SMS from supported Ethiopian financial institutions, and now also lets you scan receipts and barcodes directly, to build a complete, organized picture of your spending.
How Gebeta Works:
Gebeta requires permission to access your SMS messages. This is core functionality used to identify and extract transaction details (amount, date, merchant) from bank-sent alerts, processed locally on your device to build your financial dashboard. You can also snap a photo of a paper receipt or scan a barcode to log a purchase manually — no bank SMS needed.
