Ghost Vault is a private photo vault that keeps your personal photos and videos encrypted, hidden, and completely offline. The moment you import a file it is encrypted with AES-256-GCM, before it ever touches storage. No readable copy is left behind on your phone.
Most vault apps ask for internet access to "sync" your files. Ghost Vault has NO internet permission at all. This is not a promise not to upload — the app is technically incapable of network access. Nothing syncs, nothing phones home, and there is no account to create.

No account, no ads, no tracking SDK, no analytics. It runs entirely offline on Android 8.0 and up and speaks 13 languages. The encryption is not homemade — it is Google Tink doing AES-256-GCM, with your PIN stretched through 310,000 rounds of PBKDF2 so a stolen phone cannot be brute-forced quickly.

Ghost Vault is a one-way safe by design. There is no cloud backup and no export feature. If you lose your phone, uninstall the app, or forget your PIN, your vault cannot be recovered — not by you, and not by us. That is the honest trade-off for being the only person holding the key. Keep a separate copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Also worth knowing: when the app removes an original from your gallery after import, Android deletes the gallery entry, but on some devices the underlying data may still be recoverable with forensic tools. Your vault copy is always encrypted; deleting the original is handled by Android.
