About this app
CloakFort keeps what you send truly private.
Write a message or pick a file, choose one person, and CloakFort locks it end-to-end and tucks it inside an ordinary photo. To anyone else it is just a picture - only your recipient, only inside the app, can ever open it.
WHY CLOAKFORT
- End-to-end encryption, by architecture. Everything you send is locked to one person with X25519, HKDF and AES-256-GCM. The content only ever exists in plain form on the two phones. Not even we can read it.
- Your key never leaves your device. The private key lives in the Keychain or Keystore. There is no escrow and no backdoor. Set an account recovery code so you can restore on a new phone without ever handing your key to anyone.
- Inside an ordinary photo. Through steganography the already-encrypted content is placed in the pixels of an image. Outside CloakFort it looks like a normal photo.
- Gone when it should be. Messages are ephemeral and self-destruct after they are seen, so nothing lingers longer than you want.
- App-locked. A PIN or biometrics guards the reveal flow on your device.
- Contacts without the creepiness. CloakFort only ever checks salted hashes to see who is already on CloakFort - never your address book. Anyone who is not is invite-first.

Our servers only ever hold the locked picture. There is no readable copy of your conversation sitting on a server. Privacy is not a setting here - it is how the app is built.
