Synopsis:

When you were a child, the death of your mother closed the door on a supernatural world that few are able to see. Now in your final year of university, your father’s death wrenches that door open again, awakening strong spiritual powers that have long been dormant in you.

Accosted by a powerful and captivating yokai, you resort to the only spell that you know, with unexpected results. With your fates now bound together, you have to find a way to set aside your differences as you confront your heritage in the face of a darkness that looms over your childhood home.

Characters:

Hinome – The Fiery Fox Spirit

As quick with his temper as he is slow to lose a grudge, Hinome has a long-running history with your family. With his fate now literally bound to yours, though, you might just see a soft underbelly to go with the fangs. Can you bring this wild spirit to heel, or will he remain a thorn at your side?

Asagi – The Serpent Shikigami

Calm and collected, Asagi always keeps an ear to the ground, giving him a greater knowledge of your family than perhaps anyone else. While loyal to his master, Iori, it may take some time to loosen his forked tongue though. Can you persuade him to give up his secrets, or will they stay within his coils?

Iori – The Seasoned Onmyoji

When Iori comes back into your life after so many years and offers to help out with your yokai problem, you can’t help but wonder how the cheerful boy you once knew has matured into such a skilled exorcist—and a handsome one to boot! Can you rekindle the light you once shared, or will secrets leave you lost in the dark?

Ratings and reviews

I've played several of Genius's otome games recently, and this storyline has been my favorite so far. The ending did feel a bit rushed (esp. after 3 seasons). It also took me a while to figure out HOW to start a new season (choosing the new season, but then "replay episode" isn't very intuitive. I also REALLY WISH you could see your tickets & gems whenever you want, as well as how long a story IS (and how much story is left). Aside from those things... fun otome, great music, nice art!

Edit: Went from two stars to one. I was so excited for this story the premise was so cool but it felt so rushed each season shorter then the last. Season three was maybe 5 tickets if even. That story they built up? Thanos snapped outta here. The final battle as the game described was just a single pass. Also you get almost no time with each characters. Your better off skipping or playing another of they're free games. There isn't even a gem ending.

The story is absolutely fun from beginning to end. There are plenty of great options to choose from so replaying chapters is a joy to look forward to
