Health is much more than care. It is where you live, how you work and what you breathe. It is also the habits you incorporate into your day to day, the network that supports you, the community you are part of and the environment that surrounds you. It is how you feel today and how you would like to feel tomorrow… details that often go unnoticed but that end up determining our health and well-being. That is why the Girostudi was born, the first digital public health cohort in Catalonia. For ten years, more than 4,000 people from 18 municipalities in Girona will provide information on health, well-being and living conditions. This information, combined with biological samples, will allow us to analyse how social and environmental factors influence our well-being. The study is a pioneering initiative led by the Diputació de Girona, with the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya and scientific and health institutions in the territory.
