About this app

Tired of apps with thousands of minerals and superfluous information that doesn't allow you to learn the groups, formulas, and deposits of the minerals that are commonly studied in a Geology degree? Mineralogy - Geology - Quiz is the app you've been looking for.

The content of this app is compiled and reviewed by Mineralogy professor María José Mayayo Burillo from the Faculty of Geology at the University of Zaragoza, using specialized literature and widely validated geological-scientific mineralogical databases as information sources. The 60 mineral cards selected for this guide include photos and information on classification, geological deposits, and relevant properties. Specific properties for gemological or petrographic identification are not included.

Mineralogy - Geology - Quiz is ideal for studying Mineralogy in a Geology degree, in other related degrees, and even in pre-university studies. Each mineral group appears in a color, which facilitates learning the Dana classification.

Each card contains: mineral group, formula, crystal system, geological environments, habit and aggregates, color, luster, streak, diaphaneity, Mohs hardness, density, and cleavage. Refractive indices, birefringence, spectrum description, characteristic inclusions, and optical properties for identification by microscopy are not included.

Mineralogy - Geology - Quiz allows you to test your knowledge with a quiz of questions where you can select the items you want to study. The quiz generates a multitude of different random questions, and after the answer, a link to the cards of the four minerals offered as options is shown. In this way, it is easy to check the reason for the result obtained.

Which of the following minerals appears as crystals shaped like a cube, octahedron, rhombododecahedron, and their combinations?

Which of the following minerals can be found in a magmatic environment in VMS deposits and as an accessory in some basic igneous rocks?

Which of the following minerals does not show cleavage?

Study the minerals seen in the mineralogy course of a geology degree while having fun with this mineral guide and question quiz!
