The Global IPCert App is an application integrated into the intellectual property certification system for plant material, known as Global IPCert.

Global IPCert is a third-party verified, generalised IP compliance system designed to facilitate verification by certification bodies in the horticultural sector. It enhances security throughout the value chain and promotes respect for the rights of breeders of protected plant varieties.

The Global IPCert App enables auditors from certification entities to verify whether a producer, farmer, cooperative, nursery, or seed company holds a valid, international digital intellectual property certificate that ensures compliance with the breeders' IP rights over plant material.

This digital “IP Certificate” helps prevent fraudulent use throughout the material’s commercial cycle—from the breeder or rights holder to the producer. It provides third-party assurance that any entity receiving the plant material (such as nurseries, seed companies, cooperatives, and producers) has acquired it legally from an entity previously authorised and registered in the Global IPCert system.
