Mented is a free study planner and syllabus tracker for UPSC Civil Services (IAS) aspirants. Track the whole Prelims and Mains syllabus, practise previous year questions (PYQs), revise on schedule and chat 1-to-1 with mentors who have written UPSC Mains.
Preparation you can see is preparation you can fix.
KNOW WHAT TO DO TODAY
Open the app and Home tells you what's next: your revisions due first, then a suggested topic from your week plan. When you're clear, it says so: "All revisions done for today".
THE WHOLE UPSC SYLLABUS
Every paper, topic and subtopic of Prelims, the Mains GS papers, Essay and all 26 optional subjects. Mark each one as you go: not started, in progress, studied, revised. Mented records your progress over time, so your pace is measured, not guessed.
TWO EXAMS, TWO COUNTDOWNS
Separate countdowns and pace forecasts for Prelims and Mains, each judged against its own syllabus and its own date.
A STUDY PLAN THAT FOLLOWS YOUR STRATEGY
• Study Prelims and Mains together until a date you choose, then Prelims only
• Pick your own split, say 50 : 35 : 15
• A "This week" plan that fills itself: revisions due, unfinished topics, then new ones
• Daily tasks that carry unfinished work forward instead of losing it
PRACTISE PREVIOUS YEAR QUESTIONS
• Past UPSC Prelims questions by topic, by subject or as a whole paper
• Full past papers with UPSC marking and exam timing
• Difficulty from how other aspirants did on their first try
• Review every answer with its explanation, or just your mistakes
• Questions laid out the way UPSC prints them
SPACED REVISION
Topics you have studied come back at 2, 7, 21, 45 and 90 days, so earlier topics keep coming back before they fade. A short quiz after revising checks that it stuck.
A STUDY TIMER THAT KEEPS SCORE
Pick the subtopic and start. While it runs, a large clock stays in your notifications so a running session is hard to forget. See your daily, weekly and monthly hours, your study streak, days on target, your longest session and best day, and a four-month heatmap. A daily reminder comes at the hour you choose, and stays quiet once you have hit your target. Away for a few days? A gentle comeback reminder helps you pick up where you left off; switch it off in Profile.
STUDY AS A GROUP
Start a group or join a friend's with a code, pick a topic to study together and see who has studied today. Your group sees summaries only, never your sessions or notes.
POINTS AND A LEADERBOARD
Earn points for study time, hitting your target, finishing topics and tasks, capped each day so steady work beats one marathon. The leaderboard is opt-in and shows only your username.
MENTORS WHO HAVE WRITTEN UPSC MAINS
Answer five quick questions and Mented matches you with approved mentors by stage, subject, the help you need, language and paper. Book a 20-minute session, chat in the app and get your answer sheet back marked. Ratings come only from students who really had a session. Sessions are free for now; paid sessions are planned.
PRIVACY
Your study data is yours and is stored in India. Your progress reaches a mentor only around a session you booked, and only if you choose. Usage analytics can be switched off, and you can delete your account from inside the app.

WHAT MENTED IS NOT
It is not a coaching course or video lectures, and it does not predict your marks. It keeps track of the work you do, plans it around your strategy and connects you with people who have done it.
Free, with no ads. Analytics and the study planner are free for 45 days, then unlocked for good when 5 friends join with your invite code.
