About this app

Someone is presenting. A slide is up, or a dashboard, or a spreadsheet on a colleague's laptop, and you are not going to get the file. You photograph it, and a week later you have a crooked, glare-streaked picture you cannot read.

ScreenSnap turns that photograph into a page. Point your phone at a TV, monitor or laptop screen and get a straightened, cleaned, multi-page PDF you can search, share and file.

WHAT IT DOES

• Finds the screen for you. Frame it roughly; ScreenSnap detects the edges, and when a document is showing inside a browser or viewer it crops to the document, not the whole monitor.
• Straightens the perspective. Shoot from the side of the room and the page still comes out square, with straight lines of text.
• Cleans the background. Screens are lit unevenly, so Clean White brightens region by region instead of blowing out one half to rescue the other.
• Admits when it is unsure. If the detector cannot find a screen, it tells you and hands you draggable corners instead of guessing.
• Builds real PDFs. Capture page after page into one session, reorder by dragging, and export an A4 or Letter PDF. Resolution steps down as documents grow, so a long capture still exports.
• Keeps your scans on your phone. Pages and PDFs are stored on the device and never uploaded, except the single page you choose to send for text extraction.

Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, billed through Google Play. It renews automatically unless cancelled before the end of the current period, and you can manage or cancel it in your Google Play subscriptions at any time.

What’s new

Clean White (print-ready) now shows the whole page instead of zooming in and distorting it.
Sessions you back out of without capturing anything are now actually removed.
