GetStatus is a status saver that keeps the photos and videos you love — and it works entirely on your own phone.

When you view a contact's status in WhatsApp, WhatsApp writes a temporary copy into a hidden folder on your device. GetStatus reads that copy from your own storage and lets you keep it permanently in your gallery. Nothing is uploaded. Your statuses, your saved files and your messages never leave your phone.

NEVER MISS A STATUS AGAIN

Statuses disappear after 24 hours. The ones GetStatus has already seen stay available to you for up to 7 days, so a status you meant to save is not gone forever. Turn the feature off any time and the private copies are deleted immediately.

RECOVER DELETED MESSAGES

An optional feature that does nothing until you switch it on. GetStatus reads incoming message notifications on your own device as they arrive, so the text is still readable after the sender deletes it. Deleted photos and videos are kept privately too. Search across recovered chats, and export any chat as a text file to keep or share.

Everything captured stays in the app's private storage, is deleted automatically after 7 days, and is wiped the moment you turn the feature off or uninstall the app. It is never uploaded and never shared.

MAKE YOUR OWN STICKERS

• Turn any photo into a sticker — the subject is cut out automatically, or keep the whole picture

WHY THE PERMISSIONS

Viewed statuses live in a hidden folder that Android does not expose to normal media access. On Android 11 and above, GetStatus asks you to select that folder once in Android's own folder picker; it can then read only that folder, and you can take the access back at any time in your device settings. The storage cleaner asks separately, in the same picker, for the media folder it cleans. Notification access is separate, optional, and explained before it is used. Every permission is described in the privacy policy and can be revoked at any time.
