Vigil is a personal safety app for everyday life. Stay aware, stay connected, and look out for the people who matter, all from your phone.
Built for the UK, Vigil brings personal safety tools and a community of users together in one place. Whether you're walking home, travelling alone, or just want peace of mind, Vigil helps you stay one tap away from the people you trust.
Vigil is not an emergency service and is not a substitute for the police, ambulance, fire or any official emergency service. In an emergency, always call 999. Vigil is a tool that can help you stay connected to your contacts and community; it does not guarantee a response, rescue, or any particular outcome.
WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH VIGIL
- Press-and-hold SOS: send an alert that shares your live location with the emergency contacts you choose. A PIN helps prevent accidental cancellation.
- Live location sharing: let trusted contacts see your location while an alert is active.
- Emergency contacts: add up to three people to be notified when you start an alert.
- Report incidents: share reports of anti-social behaviour, theft, harassment and more to help keep your community informed. Reports are user-submitted and not verified.
- Community safety map: view user-reported incidents and area safety information.
- Fake Call: stage a realistic incoming call to help you leave an uncomfortable situation.
- Shake to alert: a quick, discreet way to start an alert.
- Safeguard network: other Vigil users who have opted in may be notified of a nearby active alert. These are everyday community members, not trained or professional responders, and a response is never guaranteed.
- Your details: store an optional personal description and notes that you can choose to share to help others assist you.
- Biometric app lock: helps keep your information private on your device.
Vigil is operated by G.R.M. Holdings Ltd (trading as Vigil), United Kingdom.
