About this app

GhostBuzz turns the world around you into a place full of hidden messages.

Drop a "ghost" — a short message — right where you're standing. It stays anchored to that spot and can only be opened there. Open the radar to see the ghosts around you. When you get within 50 meters of one, your phone buzzes. Only then can you open it.

Ghosts don't last forever. Each one disappears after 24 hours or after 10 people have read it, whichever comes first. When it's gone, it's really gone.

HOW IT WORKS
- Drop a ghost: write up to 280 characters and leave it where you are.
- Feel the buzz: with the radar open, your phone vibrates when you're near a ghost.
- Open it: you have to be there. No peeking from far away.
- Watch it vanish: 24 hours or 10 readers, then it's deleted for good.

ECHOES
Every ghost can collect Echoes — replies that stay in the same place. Answer a message, start a conversation with strangers who passed by the same spot, or leave a clue for the next person. Echoes vanish together with their ghost.

LEGENDS
Legendary ghosts from local folklore appear in real places, starting in El Salvador. Find them, read their story and collect their cards in your Fantasmario.

PERFECT FOR
- Anonymous notes around campus
- Scavenger hunts and secret trails for friends
- Local tips: the best coffee, the hidden view, the spot to avoid
- Leaving a surprise for someone who will pass by later

SAFE BY DESIGN
- Messages can't include links or contact info.
- Report or block any ghost or echo. Content reported by several people is hidden automatically.
- Every account is verified by email or Google.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
- Nobody sees who wrote a ghost or an echo.
- Your location is only used while the app is open, to check that you're really there. We don't keep a history of where you've been, and your last position is erased after one hour.
- No ads. We don't sell your data.

GHOSTBUZZ PRO
Free accounts can have 5 active ghosts and leave one echo per ghost. Pro adds:
