About this app

ABOUT GIFGIT
Gifgit is your go to photo editor. Use it to enhance photos with color adjustments or caption your photos with text. Below are the features and tools that are available in the app.

LAYERS

Opacity
The layer opacity sets the alpha channel of the pixels in the layer image. This determines how visible the layer is or how much you can see through it.

Layer Order
Place graphic elements at different levels of depth in the image with layers. You can set the depth or layer order by raising, lower, sending it to top or sending the layer to the bottom behind all other layers.

Blend Modes
You can control how two layers in your image or photo interact by setting the blend mode. The available blend modes are Normal, Darken, Multiply, Color Burn, Lighten, Screen, Color Dodge, Overlay, Soft Light, Hard Light, Difference, Exclusion, Hue, Saturation, Color and Luminosity.
*Nb. Android 10 and lower blend modes are Normal, Darken, Lighten, Multiply, Screen, Overlay.

Layer Operations
Merge - Merges selected layer with the lower layer.
Clip - Clips the lower layer using the alpha channel of the selected layer.
Cut - Cuts the lower layer using the alpha channel of the selected layer.

Layer Styles
outline:
You can outline or stroke the opaque regions of image in a layer. You can set the color and with of the outline or stroke.
shadow:
You can add a drop shadow and set its color, blur, position and opacity.

COLOR ADJUSTMENTS

Color adjustments can be used to change the overall tone of the selected layer. The following color adjustments are available:
Brightness
Contrast
Hue
Highlights
Shadows
Temperature
Tint
Vibrance
Gamma

TRANSFORMATIONS

Transformations are used to geometrically manipulate a layer in a photo. There are several transformations available:
Move - positions the layer in the image
Scale - stretches or shrinks the image layer either horizontally, vertically or proportionally
Rotate - turns the image around its central axis.
Skew - slants the layer image vertically or horizontally
Flip - geometrically inverts an image around its central vertical or horizontal axis.

IMAGE CUTOUT

Gifgit gives you the ability to perform image compositing by adding layers but this wouldn't be complete without the ability to cutout or erase backgrounds in those layers. Cutout tools below are used for this.

AI Erase Tool - Uses a computer algorithm to determine and erase the background.
Eraser Tool - Works like a brush tool to erase parts in the image.
Restore Tool - Undoes eraser tool.
Path Tool - Used to draw polygon paths to erase or restore image.
Freehand Tool - Allows the user to draw a path by hand to erase or restore the image.

DRAWING TOOLS

Drawing tools are provided to draw lines and basic shapes. The tools available are outlined below.

Line Brush Tool - allows user to hand draw a line of set thickness and color.
Vertical Line Tool - draws a line whose end points remains vertical relative to each other.
Horizontal Line Tool - draws a line whose end points remains vertical relative to each other.
Circle Tool - draws a circular shape
Ellipse Tool - draws an elliptical shape
Square Tool - draws a square shape
Polygon - draws an n sided polygon

Along with the custom properties for each drawing tool the fill and stroke can be set.

TYPE TOOL
The type tool allows you to add rasterized text layers to you image. The following parameters can be set when using the type tool.

Text Size - slider to set the font.
Font Family - sets the typeface of the font example Roboto or Barlow.
Align - sets the alignment of the text to right, center or left
Fill - sets the fill of the font. The font can have no fill, solid fill, linear gradient, radial gradient or sweep gradient.
Stroke - sets the stroke or outline of the font. The font can have no fill, solid fill, linear gradient, radial gradient or sweep gradient.

Thanks. Never felt the need to write a review but this app offers alot of simple yet great editing tools that one can need and doesn't rely solely on filters, overlays, stickers and the basic crop, rotate, and draw tools of MANY other image editing apps. Many other apps do not offer a straight line tool, only a free hand draw tool and other tools catering more to editing meant for social media. For me this app is the perfect tool for quick Adobe level editing. Highly recommend to work from.

Excellent picture editting app- quite complex but there are many tools that allow you to do simple yet effective changes that other editting apps overlook. Takes a bit of playing around to figure things out (i believe there are guides and tutorials, but i haven't bothered) Not been bombarded with ads either. Suggestion: Would be great to see a standard gradient tool to provide a solid to transparent gradient layer to allow clean transitions when stitching images with others when making designs.

This is a great app if you are looking for the specific features it provides, like adding horizontal and vertical lines to an image, adding a layer of a specific colour to the image, etc. However, it's features are not enough for editing your everyday photos. I would like to suggest a feature which is common is most editing apps nowadays but I found it missing here : Hold the image while editing to see the original image... Helps a lot while editing.
