About this app

LumaLens: Eye Care

Designed specifically for users dealing with photophobia, light sensitivity, or digital eye strain, LumaLens provides a customizable black mesh filter overlay that reduces total light output at the physical pixel level. This utility allows you to dim your screen beyond system limits while maintaining a flicker-free experience.

Key Features:

- Adjustable Protection: Use the persistent in-app slider or convenient notification toggles to find the exact filter density that suits your eyes.

- Hardware-Level Comfort: Unlike standard software dimmers that wash out colors, this black mesh filter reduces luminance effectively for users with medical-grade light sensitivity.

AMOLED Hardware Benefits:
While the primary goal is providing relief for light sensitivity, the unique pixel-level mesh offers distinct advantages for AMOLED and OLED displays:

- Active Burn-In Protection: Includes a programmable pixel-shifting interval. The mesh pattern subtly shifts its position to ensure no single sub-pixel remains suppressed for too long, preserving long-term panel uniformity.

- True Black Dimming: By physically deactivating a percentage of pixels, the app maintains better color integrity than traditional gray overlays.

- Power Efficiency: On AMOLED panels, black pixels are physically "off." Using a high-density mesh can help reduce the display's total power draw during extended sessions.

- Reduced Heat: Lowering the active pixel count contributes to a cooler-running display on compatible hardware.

Privacy & Security: Zero-Trust Architecture:
As a project focused on user autonomy and local execution, LumaLens is built with strict privacy standards:

- No Internet Permission: This application does not request android.permission.INTERNET. It is physically impossible for the app to transmit data to a remote server.

- No Telemetry: We do not track usage patterns, app-switching history, or UI interactions. All configurations are processed entirely on your hardware.

Accessibility Service Disclosure:
LumaLens uses the Accessibility Service API solely to display the protective filter overlay over other applications. This is a core requirement to provide a consistent and persistent experience that protects the user's eyes throughout the entire operating system. We do not monitor, collect, or share any user data or interactions through this service.
