Dioptra™ Lite provides the following information like a theodolite optical instrument -
• yaw indicator (compass)
• pitch indicator (tilt degrees)
• roll indicator (tilt degrees)
along with -
• GPS position
• azimuth and bearing to photo subject

The ancient greek "dioptra" was a classical astronomical and surveying instrument, dating from the 3rd century BCE. The dioptra was a sighting tube or, alternatively, a rod with a sight at both ends, attached to a stand. If fitted with protractors, it could be used to measure angles.

Saves all kinds of useful info in the photo (visable, not just EXIF header), like GPS, direction you are facing, angle, tilt, time, etc. Like a land surveyor's instrument. Not for every picture you take, but perfect for legal or historical or engineering matters. My initial review complained about not being able to move the app to the SD card, which I later found out was because newer versions of Android prevent it (so you can't buy an app and then share it with someone who didn't pay).

Pretty good app to use. Unfortunately, the compass uses the phones internal compass which can be messed around with if you are near large magnetic objects. Will not always point true north for this reason. Also, having difficulty following the file naming convention. Would be nice if I could adjust a setting for how I want the file saved (Date, Lat+Long, series number).

Looks good, seans to work as expected as first time using these types of apps. Just a couple of things. 1. How do I take it off full screen mode as this distortes the image, there is no option for this. 2. Where are the pictures saved to, they are not in my gallery or picture/image folder. My phone is an Oppo A72. If I can get this working properly I will give 5 stars.
