Review from Cathleen Murphy
Great intro to sign language This is my first introduction to using sign language and I am finding it very easy to follow, everyone should have this app.
It's great. How about some more phrases? The grammar explanations also could use going over. I don't understand what you mean by saying "it is Ann who is learning" would be signed rather than "Ann learns"..... Would it be possible to have an option to filter and show all downloaded words only? That would really help me revise and quiz myself. It's great, well worth it.
I think this app is great. Helped me pass my level 1 exams tho some signs here can differ a lot but that is due to whether you male or female and age groups etc. There are some words missing like "interpret" and "interpreter" and "hard of hearing" which I think should be included and the help you get too if you contact them maybe about simple queries is also very good. I really love this app so clear and helpful.
This app is fantastic for the following reasons. - the video quality is excellent! - the design of the app is so attractive - clean, minimalist, bright colours - everything is easy to find, e.g. the feedback form! - the one tap makes the videos very easy and quick to repeat - the added information on history and grammar etc. is incredibly succint and useful The following additions would bump it up to a five star resource. adding an option to view the videos online so as to save space on phones with little memory - making the videos easier to swipe right or left - adding more vocabulary, particularly from the top 100 most common nouns, verbs, adjectives etc. which lists can be found of online, and more Deaf specific vocabulary like another reviewer mentioned - adding clarification to homophone words as to which word they mean (e.g. is it back as in back to the beginning, or back as in a sore back, or back as in the back of a page etc.) This is already done with some words, like book (noun) and book (verb) - adding a category to see all the words that have been downloaded as a list, so as to easily study them! Thanks so much for this incredible work! Definitely worth the money!
This is a great app. So simple, no drama :)
Exactly what I wanted This app is fantastic. Really clear. Just downloaded a few minutes ago and love it already. It is really going to help me to learn ISL. I especially like how it shows you the letters of the alphabet used in signs. For example, "her" goes from "H" to "R" very quickly. The app shows you this by clicking on "right hand". Excellent value for money. Thank you!
Beware require access to wifi for videos Would like to see phrases for conversational isl or link words in dictionary to signing phrases/english sentences. Disappointed that it is paid app that require wifi access at all times. There is another excellent basic signs and phrases isl app that when downloaded can be watched without wifi.
