About this app

The God Behind Bars app exists to help connect people who want to bring the hope of Jesus into prisons with the churches and correctional facilities already doing that work.

Every feature in this app points back to one thing: introducing men and women behind bars to Jesus. Volunteering, mentoring, showing up week after week — it all matters because it's how the Gospel gets carried into some of the darkest, loneliest places in our country.

WHO CAN USE IT

Individual accounts (open to anyone)
Follow God Behind Bars, church partners, and correctional facilities for updates from the field. Like, comment, and share posts. Browse and apply for volunteer opportunities near you, and be part of bringing light into prisons.

Church Partner accounts (invite-only)
For ministries with active prison programs. Track attendance and program metrics, manage events, and share what God is doing through your ministry with a built-in audience of people ready to get involved.

DOC / Facility accounts
For correctional facility staff. Post volunteer opportunities, manage programs and events, and connect directly with churches and individuals who want to serve the men and women in your care.

WHAT YOU CAN DO IN THE APP

Programs & Events — Track recurring programs and one-time events, with built-in metrics so you can see the impact of your ministry over time.

Locations — Every program, event, and volunteer opportunity is tied to a real location, so people can find opportunities to serve near them.

Dashboard — A visual snapshot of your programs, events, and locations, all in one place.

Volunteer Opportunities — Churches and facilities post opportunities, individuals apply, and everyone connects — whether through in-app messaging or an exported contact list.

Community Feed — Churches, facilities, and God Behind Bars share updates, photos, videos, and stories from the field. Anyone can like, comment, and share.

Team Accounts — Churches and facilities can invite individuals onto their team, giving them the ability to help manage things on the organization's behalf.
