Absolutely useless! The manual that came with the fan states that you can turn off the beeps and lower the brightness of the screen in the app. You can't. There's no options whatsoever. ilIn fact, you can barely even control the fan itself. The 'power' button just temporarily makes the fan go faster (you can't switch it off) and you can't adjust the beeps or screen or set a sleep timer as advertised. Just sign up so they can sell your data. Cool.

Easy setup and connection experience (although how to tell the difference between WiFi symbol blinking "fast" and "slow"? Very subjective; maybe say eg. once/sec). I like the temperature and timer sliders and scheduling options. It's good that when you use the app, the heating unit doesn't beep like it does with the supplied remote control (feature request; there's no obvious way to turn off the remote control and/or keypad beeping? Please add that). Overall quite happy.

For use with 84cm tower fan - no problem connecting to wi-fi (yes, location permissions have to be enabled to detect the device). Connected to Google and Alexa just like any other device and the simple commands work perfectly. You do get the 'Bluetooth enabled error' every time you start the app if you've disabled permissions, but I'm guessing Goldair want it on by default for ease off use when detecting new devices.
