Now there is Golf Time, an app that keeps track of your playing time and can help you and the club to the right playing pace. I once heard Göran Zachrisson say that golf is a social game, people meet, talk and have fun while they play. I agree!
But for everyone's well-being on the golf course, it is good to have round times according to the course's playing pace, e.g. 4 hours and 10 minutes.
Finding a ball within 3 minutes is fundamental for competitive play but also for a round to be registered for handicap.
In competition, it is an absolute requirement that all players in the playing field search for their ball according to rule 18.2.
After exactly three minutes, the ball is lost
With Golf Timer, you can temporarily interrupt the search time according to rule 18.2a(1)/1, e.g. when a waiting ball is dropped.
Max. 40 seconds of preparation for players to make a stroke (also applies to the green).
If a three-ball with skilled players reduces the preparation to 30 seconds, it would have a major impact on the round time.
10 seconds times 3 players and with an average score of 75 strokes/player gives 12.5 minutes/player. A total of 37.5 minutes per round to be able to earn time.
Round time: shows how long you have played.
Ball search: clearly shows when the time of 3 minutes has been reached. After that the ball is lost.
Stroke preparation: here there is a great potential for saving time.
What is not measured cannot be improved.
