About this app

See what's safe to spend today, in one number.
Open the app and "Safe to spend today: $38" is the biggest thing on the screen.
So when you wonder "can I buy this?", you don't have to dig through old entries.

SAFE TO SPEND TODAY
• Tell Daram your payday, monthly income and fixed costs (rent, phone, insurance). It splits your remaining spending money across the days left and shows what's safe to spend today.
• Spend more today and tomorrow's amount goes down. Spend less and it goes up. It's worked out again every day.
• Don't want to enter your income? Just set your monthly spending money.
• Tap the number to see exactly how it was worked out.
• "Can this fit my budget?" Enter a price to preview how today, this month and month-end would change before you buy.

LOGGING TAKES AN AMOUNT AND A CATEGORY
• Type the amount on a big number pad, pick a category, done.
• Past entries show up as suggestions. Tap one and the amount and category are filled in.
• Tap the home screen widget to jump straight to the entry screen.
• Fixed costs like rent and phone bills are logged for you on the day you set.

HOW MUCH WILL BE LEFT AT MONTH-END?
• Based on your pace so far: "At this pace you'll have $140 left at month-end", or how much you'd be short.
• One alert when you go over today's amount, and one when you look short for month-end.
• A one-line note on the home screen, like "Delivery is $23 above your usual this week".
• Optional: a morning note at 8 with what's safe to spend today.
• Alerts can be turned off in Settings at any time.

HOME SCREEN WIDGET
• "Safe to spend today" fills the widget, so you don't need to open the app.
• The background color shows how you're doing: mint when you're fine, butter yellow when it's tight, peach when it's risky.
• With App lock on, amounts in widgets are hidden unless you choose to show them.

SPEND LESS, AND DARAM'S ROOM GROWS
• Finish the month under your spending money and you earn acorns. The more you leave, the more you earn.
• You also earn acorns on days you stay within today's amount, and on no-spend days.
• Spend acorns on furniture, wallpaper, floors and little things for Daram the squirrel's room.
• Drag furniture with your finger and put it where you like.

THE BASICS ARE ALL HERE
• Calendar, search, stats by category and payment method, yearly view
• A monthly recap you can save and share as an image
• Category budgets, recurring expenses and income (weekly, monthly, yearly, installments), a reminder the day before
• Savings goals
• Backup file export and import, CSV export and import
• App lock with a 4-digit passcode and fingerprint or face unlock
• English, Korean, Japanese and Traditional Chinese, with your choice of currency

START WITHOUT SIGNING IN. BACKUP IS OPTIONAL.
• Use every feature without an account. Your ledger is stored on this device.
• If you choose to sign in to a Daram Account, Daram encrypts and backs up your ledger and room so you can restore them on another device.
• Turn automatic backup off anytime, or delete your account and server backup inside the app.
• No bank or card linking. Daram never asks for banking logins.
• To improve the app, Daram sends anonymous usage stats about which features are used. No amounts, no notes, no advertising ID. You can turn this off in Settings > About.
