Got this based on recommendations from various sites. I was surprised how on my own I was for installation. The partial open only sometimes works (possibly recently fixed) but now I don't seem to be notified when the door is left open anymore. This product just wasn't as easy to install or use and the support isn't as good as I was expecting. It mostly works but it's also a pain and if I can't rely on it to remind me that I left the door open that's a major selling point that's not working.

We've had a tailwind device for a few years now and have really liked it a lot. However, the latest app and firmware updates have completely broken the auto open feature. it will work well for a few days, then will quit working again. I've double checked all permissions, tried rebooting the device and my phone, but nothing helps. It's a shame because it has been great up until now. We may have to look into alternative options if this isn't fixed soon.

Update: Like the march 2024 update, the recent August update killed notifications. Left here to notify of bug. Original: User since 2019. Did not want to spend extra on home link and did not want to pay subscription fees. The kit was easy to install and the open on arrival is very nice! I did turn off auto close since I like to watch the door close before I take off. I would love to have a lockdown mode, especially during vacations.
