♟️ Chess Arrows lets you sketch move ideas, threats, and plans directly on top of your chess app — no more switching between screenshots or a separate notes app.
🖊️ HOW IT WORKS
- Tap the floating pencil icon to start drawing.
- Press and drag anywhere on screen to draw an arrow — over your existing chess app, from any point to any point.
- Release to finish the arrow. Draw as many as you like.
- Tap ↩️ Undo to remove the last arrow, or tap ✅ to clear everything and return to using your chess app normally.
🎨 CUSTOMIZE YOUR ARROWS
- Choose from four preset colors (🟢 green, 🔴 red, 🟡 yellow, 🔵 blue) to mark good moves, threats, ideas, or alternatives — following common chess annotation conventions.
- Adjust arrow thickness and opacity with a live preview, so your markup looks exactly the way you want.
- Your style choices are saved automatically and applied the next time you open the overlay.
🕹️ FLOATING, DRAGGABLE CONTROLS
The draw and undo buttons are small floating icons you can drag anywhere on screen — they snap to the nearest edge when released, so they never get in the way of your board.
🔒 WHY THIS APP NEEDS "DISPLAY OVER OTHER APPS"
Chess Arrows entire purpose is drawing on top of whatever chess app you're using. Android requires the "Display over other apps" permission to do this — without it, the app has no function. You can grant or revoke this permission at any time from your device Settings.
🔔 WHY THIS APP SHOWS A NOTIFICATION
While the overlay is active, Android requires a persistent notification so you always know it's running. This notification also gives you quick Clear and Stop buttons, so you can dismiss your arrows or shut down the overlay without switching apps.
🛡️ PRIVACY
Chess Arrows does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Your style preferences are stored only on your device.
♟️ Chess Arrows is an independent utility and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any specific chess platform or app.
