Each mission is a separate historical scenario with its own objectives: capture cities, break through the front line, and meet the deadline. One turn equals one day of war. Late, and the operation is a failure.

[BATTLEFIELD]

Fight on a large hexagonal map. Rivers, forests, swamps, hills, mountains, roads, bridges, fords, straits, towns, and fortifications alter the speed, cover, and force of attack. Tanks tear up the plain, infantry holds the forest, artillery fires from a distance, and the navy controls the sea.

The fog of war hides the enemy from view. Supplies run through a corridor to friendly cities: if the rear is cut off, the division weakens, loses momentum, and may perish. Air resupply from airbases saves the encircled.

Build fortifications and air defenses, capture airbases, and prepare an assault with aircraft and frontline artillery. The momentum of the operation grows with victories, giving armor and motorized infantry the pace of a blitzkrieg—or it falls after losses, breaking the offensive.

Command historical branches of the Second World War:

• Infantry, motorized infantry, cavalry, tanks, and artillery
• Airborne forces and amphibious assault
• Destroyers, cruisers, battleships, submarines, and transports
• Airstrikes, aerial reconnaissance, and parachute drops

Division stacking, morale, march endurance, and preparation before the assault—every decision on the map has a cost. Don't abandon your strike force without supplies, and don't assault a fort head-on if it can be outflanked.

[GENERALS]
Historical commanders appear on the battlefield: Guderian, von Bock, Rundstedt, Kleist, Hoth, Reichenau, List, and Dietl. The general modifies the division's attack and defense. Play to their strengths.

Unlock awards and medals for your campaign achievements. Collect your victory roll—from the first days of September 1939 to the capitulation of France, Yugoslavia, and Greece.
