GraphoGame Norwegian is a learning game that can help early school-age children learn letters and their corresponding sounds.
Users can access the game with a Feide login or by purchasing access to home mode. Home mode requires a small one-time purchase and can be purchased from within the game. Feide login is offered by a school or municipality that has activated GraphoGame.
By playing GraphoGame, children first learn to connect letters and letter sounds. The game is based on recognized methods for reading education. Through a series of levels, they gradually progress to short and eventually longer words. GraphoGame is dynamic and adapts the level of difficulty to the individual child. Through adaptation and positive feedback, the game can motivate the child to play for as long as it receives enough repetitions for the letter-sound combinations to be established and robust.
The GraphoGame platform has been developed by a leading research environment at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, in collaboration with a network of international reading researchers. GraphoGame Norsk has been developed in collaboration with the Reading Center at the University of Stavanger.
