Founded in 1986, the Aurillac International Street Theatre Festival has consistently established itself as one of the leading performing arts events in France.

For its 2026 edition, the city welcomes 25 official companies and nearly 650 visiting companies, making the Aurillac Festival an exceptional event for artistic creation, research, and dissemination.

During these four days, Aurillac opens all its streets, squares, and plazas to some 150,000 spectators, offering a vibrant and internationally focused program.

A major artistic and cultural event!
Since 2020, ÉCLAT, in collaboration with municipalities in the department, also presents CHAMP LIBRE, a tour of performances throughout the Cantal region. From July 28 to August 9, 2025, 23 municipalities made the committed and enthusiastic choice to defend culture in their territory and to welcome artists and the public with conviction.
