About this app

GreenRah helps you walk through a city with more shade and less heat stress. On a hot day the shortest path is often the harshest: open sun, hot pavement, and climbs that wear you down before you arrive.

GreenRah is pedestrian navigation that compares walking options using sun position, building and tree shade, weather, slope, and thermal comfort. You see a cooler walk next to a faster one, then you choose.

THE COOLER WAY
Built for people who actually walk in summer:
• Tourists visiting EU and UK cities who do not know which streets bake at midday
• Everyday commuters who want a gentler walk to work or the station
• Older adults and walkers with limited mobility who prefer less slope when a route allows it
• Parents with strollers who need a calmer path, not only the shortest line
• Runners and long walkers who want to plan shade before they head out
• Anyone walking unprotected in heat, including visitors without local knowledge

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Find shaded, cooler walking routes between two places
• Compare cooler vs faster options, with shade share and walk time before you go
• Change the time of day and see how shadows move
• Use gentler options when you want less steep ground
• See water, toilets, and trees on the map so you can plan a stop
• Walk as a guest, or sign in to save places and your account

HOW TO USE IT
Set From and To, choose the date and the time of the day, and tap Find, compare the routes, then start walking. Allow location while using the app so GreenRah can start from where you are. You can also type places if you prefer.

WHERE IT WORKS
GreenRah is made for walking in EU and UK cities, with Portugal as the first deep launch. Shade quality and coverage vary by city. If you are outside the supported region, the app will tell you.

PRIVACY AND ACCOUNT
Location is used to route and to record walks you choose to save. There are no ads. You can delete your account in the app.
