About this game

Route Catchers is a tactical board game where the Runner tries to reach the opposite edge while the Catchers erase the trail and close every escape route.

The Runner moves one cell in any direction and leaves a trail after every move. Catchers move vertically or horizontally and remove trail cells by stepping on them. When the entire trail is erased, the Runner must skip a turn.

Plan each move, create alternative routes, and avoid being surrounded. The Catchers must control important lanes and keep the Runner blocked for three consecutive turns.

Victory conditions:

• the Runner wins by reaching the opposite edge;
• the Catchers win by blocking the Runner for three turns in a row.

Game features:

• 8×8 and 16×16 boards;
• local two-player mode;
• matches against a bot;
• unique trail-building and route-erasing mechanics;
• complete move timeline;
• dashboard with goal distance, pressure lanes, and upcoming risks;
• undo option;
• built-in rules and quick match restart.

Every move changes the route. Protect the path to freedom or close it before the Runner escapes.
Guide the runner, preserve the trail, and escape the catchers.
