Gridler LPR shows what offline licence plate recognition can do on an ordinary phone. It is the demonstration app for the Gridler ANPR plugin — the same recognition engine you can build into your own Android and iOS apps. Try it, see how it behaves, and if it fits what you are building, get in touch with us from inside the app.
Point the camera at a vehicle and the licence plate is read straight away — the number, the country it belongs to, and a photo of the plate itself.
RECOGNITION RUNS ON THE PHONE
Plates are read on the device itself. Nothing is sent to a cloud service to be recognised, and it keeps working with no signal at all — in a car park, on a ferry, in the middle of nowhere.
WHAT IT READS
• European plates across the EU, with the country identified from the plate's format
• North American, Asian and Oceanian plate patterns
• Moving vehicles, in continuous scanning or one plate at a time
• Plates at range: auto zoom finds a plate that is too far to read, zooms in, reads it and zooms back out
TRY THE OPTIONS FOR YOURSELF
The app exposes the plugin's settings so you can see how it behaves: region and preferred country, detection threshold, minimum plate size, blur rejection, edge-plate filtering, tracking rectangles, read confidence, and more. Each option is explained on screen. A "Launch intent" panel shows the exact configuration being sent to the scanner — living documentation of the integration.
INTERESTED IN THE PLUGIN?
Parking, access control, fleet management, toll and enforcement, car parks, workshops, valet: if your app needs to know which vehicle it is looking at, this is the component that tells it. Tell us what you are building — the interest form is in the app — and we will get in touch.
PRIVACY
The plates you scan stay on your phone. Optionally, you can help improve recognition by sharing plate images with us, and you can switch this off at any time. Anonymous usage statistics help us see which features matter; these never include plate numbers, images or location.
