GRIP Note is a rally pacenote tool built for drivers and co-drivers. Write, record, read, and export your pacenotes — all from your phone, no internet required.
Whether you're on a recce run, driving a stage, or preparing printed notes for race day, GRIP Note keeps everything in one place.
KEY FEATURES
Recce Mode
Write pacenotes using customizable chip-based input. Tap direction, severity, duration, decorators, and joiners to build notes quickly. GPS odometer tracks your distance automatically.
Drive Mode
Speak your notes while driving. Voice input recognizes your chip vocabulary and builds structured pacenotes hands-free. A compass dial shows your phone's tilt angle matched against severity thresholds — tap the center to capture the current reading. GPS distance is recorded with each note.
Rally Mode
Read back your notes with a scrolling context window showing surrounding entries. Text-to-speech reads notes aloud using customizable pronunciations. Night mode dims the display for low-light conditions.
PDF Export
Generate print-ready pacenote booklets in landscape or portrait layout. Choose font size, page format (half-page single-sided, half-page double-sided, or full page), and odometer display size. Notes are formatted in bold monospace with double spacing to enable handwritten edits.
Fully Customizable
Every chip category — directions, severities, durations, cautions, decorators, and joiners — is configurable per rally. Set custom display values, spoken pronunciations, compass angles, and sort orders. Rename a chip and it updates across all your notes.
Import & Export
Back up and share rallies as .grip.json files. Import notes from other devices or team members. All data stays on your device — nothing is uploaded to the cloud.
