About this app

InkSafe is a private notebook you write in by hand, by keyboard, or both, on real paper. Choose from 49 paper types, draw with your finger or stylus, fill in a form, and export a clean PDF or Word document. Everything stays on your device.

Tap a field and type, or write over it by hand. Meeting notes and minutes, client meetings, project timelines and summaries, task and to-do trackers, priority grids, day organizers, brain dumps, phone-call logs, mind maps, daily checklists, and more. Typed fields and pen strokes live on the same page and export together.

IMPORT A PDF AND WRITE ON IT
Pick any PDF and InkSafe renders its pages as backgrounds you can trace, annotate, and sign over. Multi-page documents import as a set of linked pages you can flip through. Import a photo the same way.

MULTI-PAGE NOTEBOOKS
Continue a note on a new page and InkSafe keeps the pages together: grouped in your list, numbered, with next and previous arrows in the editor. Sort your notes by date, name, page count, or size.

HANDWRITING THAT BEHAVES
- Pressure-friendly ink in a full color palette, with adjustable stroke widths
- An eraser that reaches your strokes at any zoom level
- One undo button that steps back through pen strokes AND typed form fields in the order you actually made them
- Pinch to zoom and pan around a page larger than your screen
- Measure distances on gridded paper in inches, feet, cm, m, or mm

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
- Lock the app with a 6-digit PIN, a fingerprint, or face unlock
- Optional at-rest encryption of your notes using XSalsa20-Poly1305 authenticated encryption
- Lock an individual note or a whole folder
- Recovery code, so a forgotten PIN doesn't mean lost notes
- No account, no cloud, no sync. Your notes never leave your device.

EXPORT AND PRINT
- Export any selection of notes to a single PDF or a Word (.docx) file
- Print a page straight from the editor
- Add blank spacer pages between notes
- Nested folders to organize everything

PRICING
InkSafe is free, supported by banner ads. Every feature above works in the free version. One optional in-app purchase ($4.99, one time, not a subscription) removes the ads and removes the small "Made with InkSafe" line from your exports.

PRIVACY

What’s new

Typing in long notes is fast again. The editor now renders only the part of a note you're looking at, so notes no longer slow down as they grow.

Also fixed:
• A crash when pressing Back twice quickly.
• A memory leak that could build up over a long session.
