KeptHere — offline search for text in your photos.

Saved a chat, receipt, ticket, or settings screen — and can't find it later? KeptHere scans images in your gallery, reads text on your phone, and lets you search by words instantly.

WHAT IT DOES
• Scans your gallery in the background with on-device OCR (English + Russian)
• Keeps only photos where text was found — skips empty images to save space
• Searches recognized text and file names with instant local full-text search
• Opens a detail card with preview, file path, zoom, and full OCR text
• Select and copy OCR text, or copy all with one tap
• Delete a photo from the gallery and remove it from search in one flow
• Works offline after install (OCR language data ships with the app)

PRIVACY
• No account or sign-up
• No cloud sync
• No ads or trackers in the core product flow
• Photos and text stay on your device
• Only needs photo/media access to read and index images

HOW TO USE
1. Grant photos / media permission
2. Keep auto-indexing on (or tap Reindex in Settings)
3. Wait for background indexing — progress shows in-app and in a notification
4. Type a word or phrase from a photo into search
5. Open a result to view, zoom, copy text, or delete

WHAT GETS INDEXED
• All images in your gallery are scanned
• Only photos with enough readable text are saved to the search index
• Plain photos without text are skipped (until you run Reindex)

WHO IT'S FOR

LIMITATIONS
• Search quality depends on image clarity and OCR accuracy
• Tiny or stylized fonts may OCR poorly
• First indexing of a large gallery takes time
