Batson is an offline application designed to create and organize friendly cricket meetings. Participants can discuss local agreements, set rules, and keep track of what has been agreed upon. Batson runs directly on the device without the need for accounts, network connections, or remote services.
The user starts a meeting with a topic and enters a single rule workspace. Batson allows for the addition of optional information about the meeting, such as location, ball description, and field notes.
The rules are organized into four categories: Boundaries, Runs, Dismissal, and Beginner agreements. Each rule has a name, status, and effect. Batson allows for editing, moving, changing the category, and deleting rules within the same workspace.
Consensus is written next to each rule after participants have discussed it. The editor records whether there is shared consensus. Batson does not use accounts, participant votes, queues, or automated judging.
Unagreed rules are always visible. A consensus summary shows progress and allows the user to move to the next rule that requires discussion. Batson saves the content of the meeting during navigation and editing.
Once all requirements have been met, the meeting can be saved as a standalone image. Batson creates a saved sheet containing the meeting details, the order of the rules and the time of the last meeting.
Saved sheets are kept separate from the original drawings. Batson has a library where meetings can be searched by topic or location, and where drawings and saved sheets can be separated. A sheet can also be used to create a new drawing with new identifiers and a new consensus can be started.
The program also allows you to add a small reminder image, but this is only available in the saved sheet details. Batson stores the image on the device and allows you to change or delete it.
Batson is designed for simple and friendly meetings about cricket. The rules are presented as unofficial local agreements, not as official cricket rules. The program does not have match scores, rankings, automatic judging, betting or competitive features.
All information is stored on the device and the system does not require accounts or internet services. Batson provides a structured way to prepare, discuss, agree on and maintain custom rules for a cricket meeting.
