About this app

Say goodbye to food label anxiety! Bokha is the helping hand you've been looking for - a simple app that scans food products and helps you review allergens, traces, and additives from Open Food Facts data. Perfect for anyone with mild allergies or food sensitivities who's tired of squinting at tiny ingredient lists.

We've all been there - standing in the grocery aisle, wondering if that product contains something that might trigger your allergy. That's why we created Bokha - to make your shopping trips stress-free.

With just a quick scan, you'll see whether your selected allergens are matched in Open Food Facts data. Our app shows you:
• A simple green, yellow, or red indicator based on allergen matches found in the database
• All the allergens and traces in the product that might affect you
• A handy history of everything you've scanned before

How does it work? Super easy:
1. Open the app and scan any food barcode
2. Tell Bokha once what your allergies are
3. Get immediate results showing whether matching allergens are found in database data
4. Save products you like to find them again later

We've packed Bokha with useful features:
• Quick detection of all common allergens - from gluten and dairy to nuts and more
• Clear, color-coded warnings that are easy to understand
• Personalized results based on your specific dietary needs
• A growing list of products with no matching allergen found in database data
• Easy sharing with family members so they can review the same product data

Want even more features? Our Premium version gives you:
• Unlimited product scanning
• Your complete scan history at your fingertips
• Detailed info about additives
• Save as many favorite products as you want
• More comprehensive product analysis

Bokha connects to the Open Food Facts database, giving you access to thousands of products worldwide. Shopping for groceries doesn't have to be a guessing game anymore!

Bokha is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.

Always verify packaging and ingredient labels before consumption, and consult a qualified healthcare professional for allergy-related decisions.

Doesn't have wheat allergy as an option. Also, it instantly asks you to rate the app before you even get to see the app itself, it's in the walk-through before the full app is seen. Then they want to charge for this??? 1 star for not having wheat, a super common allergy. Wish I could drop the star level more, because I don't want to be harassed to rate an app, even more so before I ever get to use the app. Definitely don't recommend.

Hi, as explained within the app, the number of allergens Bokha detects is limited (14) for legal reasons. Wheat cannot be detected accurately. Gluten is supported. I'm asking for the user to rate the app during the onboarding as a support - I'm not living off Bokha, giving a review is 100% optional but matters to me, maintaining an app has a cost.

Rn I installed this app but I instantly deleted it, not because the app itself was bad, but it has limited availability for allergies, because I have a pretty rare allergy, it's not useful for me, now I know that it haves technical problems, but I'll be waiting

Hello, we understand the issue, and as explained in the app, the list of allergens we can detect is limited by the official allergens list decided by US and EU regulators, which is quite limited. Unfortunately, we cannot accurately improve our system with this limitation.

asking me to rate this app on installation, before I have even opened it is an absolute joke; therefore, I have given it one star. Things can only get better when I get to open the app

Hello, this app is created and maintained by a solo developer, it takes me a lot of time to keep it working and make it better. I'm asking for a (optional) review during the onboarding because it's the best, free, way to support me.

What’s new
