About this app

Guardlock is an app lock for Android that keeps your private apps behind a PIN, pattern or fingerprint. Lock chat, photo, gallery, banking and email apps so they stay private when someone else holds your phone.

HOW THE APP LOCK WORKS
1. Set a 4-digit PIN.
2. Tap any app in the list to lock it. Tap again to unlock it.
3. When a locked app opens, Guardlock covers it until you unlock.

UNLOCK YOUR WAY
• PIN lock, pattern lock and KnockCode
• Fingerprint lock and face unlock, where your phone supports them
• Your PIN always works as a fallback, and a secret answer helps you recover it

TIMED AND REPEATING APP LOCKS (FREE)
Tap the clock next to any app to choose how long it stays locked:
• Until you turn it off
• For 24 hours, or for a number of days
• Between two dates and times
• On repeat: chosen days of the week, dates of the month, or days such as the first Monday, all day or between two times
Your PIN still opens a locked app at any time. Outside its hours, a repeating lock does not ask.

GUARDLOCK PLUS
• No ads
• Intruder photos: see who tried to open your locked apps
• Fake crash screen, so a locked app looks like it closed
• Usage, network and lock statistics, including a 7-day lock schedule
• Custom theme: pick the background and accent colour
• Call blocker (Android 10 or later): block calls flagged by your phone network, hidden numbers, numbers not in your contacts, or any number on your block list. Choose whether blocked calls hang up or ring silently, and see every blocked call in a list where you can unblock a number. Guardlock has no spam database; it uses what your phone and network report, and numbers never leave your phone. Making Guardlock your call screening app replaces your phone app's own spam filter while it is on.
New subscribers can try Guardlock Plus free. Google Play shows the trial length and the price before you subscribe, and you can cancel in Google Play before the trial ends to pay nothing.

WHAT TO EXPECT
While Guardlock is on, it shows a persistent notification so it can keep working in the background. It covers locked apps and the package installer; it does not force-close them.

WHAT GUARDLOCK CANNOT DO
Android Settings, Play Store, and launchers stay available. Force stop and uninstall are still system actions, so Guardlock is not uninstall-proof.

PERMISSIONS
Usage access, display over other apps, unrestricted battery, and notifications are required so locks stay reliable. Call blocking also asks to become your call screening app and, if you choose, to read your contacts. A PIN is required to open Guardlock.

Use Guardlock as your app locker and privacy guard: lock messaging apps, your gallery and photos, banking and email with a PIN lock, pattern lock or fingerprint lock, set timed app locks for when you lend your phone, and catch snoopers with intruder photos.

What’s new

A new look for Guardlock, with ViperSafe fonts on every screen. Setup is shorter and locks your first app right away. Home has All, Locked and Unlocked tabs with counts. The lock-for-a-time sheet is cleaner, with One time and Repeat tabs. Settings is now six tiles. After you open a locked app with your PIN, Guardlock offers a fingerprint shortcut once.
