About this app

Sum Up automagically summarizes your chat message notifications.

It manages your notifications to detect chat notifications and replaces these messages with a summary of their contents generated by an AI model of your choice (currently only Gemini models are supported).

A Google Gemini API key is required to use Sum Up. Your API keys are stored safely on your device only.

⠀How to use:
⠀1. Open Sum Up
⠀2. Grant notification access to Sum Up
⠀3. Allow Sum Up to post new notifications if you're on Android 13+
⠀4. Get a Google Gemini API key to use with Sum Up (The use of this API may require additional charges)
⠀5. Setup Sum Up to your liking

Sum Up supports summaries in the languages supported by Gemini.

Chats may be saved locally for up to 7 days to provide history functionality. However, they will only be stored on your device and will never be shared with anyone.

Was really easy to set up, and it works exactly as advertised. Made coming through my work emails and texts so much faster. I only have one complaint/suggestion: it automatically grabs notifications for supported apps, but I wish there was a way to force certain apps into that list. I’ve recently been using a dating app that supports direct messages and it would be great to have the AI summarize those messages as well.

I cannot tell you how much this app helps me on a daily basis. I am the type of person who gets overwhelmed by my own phone sometimes with work emails, group chats, and my mom all blowing up my phone while I'm trying to get stuff done in real life. It's horrible for my anxiety. But this app is an absolute game changer for that. It succinctly sums up what's going on so I can stay in the loop or quickly catch up when I wake up, get back from the gym, or finish a bike ride. It's amazing!!!!

Didn't work well at first, started sending double texts and the summary didn't work although it showed up on the app. It seems to have some bugs. I wanted the only cool feature from iPhone lol this is the right idea, keep it up. I'll be checking again soon if there's some kind of update. I had to uninstall and reinstall it. Also it seems a bit off with the 2.5-flash but the Pro works alright. Perhaps it was the API key I used (I got and use a different one now).

What’s new

Version 1.2 of Sum Up adds support for the new Gemini models.
Also included are translations to Spanish and Spanish from Chile thanks to Juan Lobos and to Czech thanks to Jakub Pavlů.
