The app crashes a second or two after opening it. This happens every single time, and I have the latest Android OS and Samsung phone. Not a great start

Super duper shady. They require all sorts of unnecessary permissions and are almost definitely stealing your data. Just use the hardware remote.

Why do I even need to register an account anyways? 90sec to use the code sent to your email but 30min to get the email.
