Every light in the city has gone out. You are a child with a small lantern, walking through the dark.
SEARCH LIGHT is a wordless, handcrafted 2D platform adventure. You run, jump, burst your light and rekindle the people who froze in the darkness. Silhouette art, a minimalist interface, a calm pace — less an arcade game, more a walk through the night.
300 handcrafted levels, eighty districts, three acts. Nothing is procedurally generated; every level was built by hand, and every district has its own rule: rising water, bridges locked to a metronome, streets that turn upside down, pitch-black tunnels where you navigate by sound, shadow twins that mimic you, convoys you escort, and an ember carried in your palm that fades as you walk. Light is not a single button here: you burst it, dim it to hide from searchlights, throw it ahead to light your path, swing from it like a hook.
Along the way, puzzle gates ask for understanding rather than reflexes: knot circuits, mirror beams, bell echoes, upside-down parity. In the third act, every tenth level is a puzzle room.
You are following the trail your mother left behind. Every memory fragment you collect reveals a line of her story — and in the quiet flashback scenes, where nothing can hurt you, you play her yourself.
Endless Night is a second mode, separate from the story: one daily seed, the same for the whole world. The main menu announces tonight's watch and its night mode — Storm, Low Lantern, Ice Night, or Ash Night, where you run with an ember in your palm. Daily rankings, ghost runs drifting beside you, and a streak that counts your consecutive nights. Story levels also hold bronze, silver and gold time medals; your best time is saved.
Accessibility lives in the settings, all of it free: gentle mode (chases slow down, extra checkpoints appear), three-step screen shake (can be turned fully off), high contrast, left-handed mode, adjustable button size, one-touch controls. The game is fully playable in silence — there is no spoken dialogue to miss.
Free, with no ads; this version contains no in-app purchases at all, and nothing is locked. No internet needed — the story plays fully offline, and the daily leaderboard asks for a nickname, never an account.
