About this app

EMV Card Analyzer is an Android developer utility for inspecting EMV card data and APDU communication in authorized test and diagnostic environments. The current Android app uses the device's built-in NFC reader to communicate with compatible contactless cards.

Present a card and start an analysis. The analyzer discovers recognized applications, performs a bounded SELECT, GET PROCESSING OPTIONS (GPO), and READ RECORD sequence, records the APDU exchange, and presents the captured result in a structured form for further inspection.

Card reading and results:

- recognition of supported Visa, Mastercard, and American Express application families

- analysis summary with result, application, and reader-interface details
- explicit Completed, Incomplete, Unsupported, Interrupted, and Failed outcomes
- clear explanations of where processing stopped

- BER-TLV parsing and contextual EMV tag descriptions
- DOL and Application File Locator (AFL) interpretation
- payment-scheme-specific decoding where the meaning is known

- offline Tag reference and APDU response-code reference

History and reports:

Privacy and connectivity:

- no user account required
- no advertising
- no analytics or tracking
- no network connection required
- application data and reports remain local unless the user explicitly shares them

EMV Card Analyzer is a bounded diagnostic reader, not a certified payment kernel. It does not provide payment, banking, wallet, money-transfer, or other financial services. It cannot make purchases or verify PINs and is intended exclusively for authorized development, diagnostics, and controlled test environments.

Captured card data may be sensitive. Review it before copying, saving, or sharing a report, and inspect only cards and applications that you are authorized to test.

Requirements:

- Android device with NFC reader support
- NFC enabled
- compatible contactless EMV card that you are authorized to inspect

Actual behavior depends on the card technology, card application, available records, and device NFC implementation. Complete payment procedures and legacy contactless magstripe flows are not implemented. Some cards may update internal counters when commands are processed. External card readers, including readers for contact cards, are not currently supported.
