ChewPaca helps children learn to chew with their mouth closed — without nagging, scolding, or turning dinner into a battle.
Your child chooses an alpaca or a horse — coat, colours, name — and sets it eating beside their plate. As they chew with their lips together, it chews along and hoofprints appear one by one: a quiet, happy marker of steady progress.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
It only ever notices the good. There is no buzzer, no red mark, no tally of mistakes. When your child chews with their mouth open, nothing happens at all — because being caught doing it right teaches this far faster than being corrected doing it wrong.
You stay the coach. At the end of each short round the app gives you one specific thing to say. That sentence is what actually teaches the habit; the animal just holds your child's attention while you say it.
WE NEVER SEE YOUR CHILD
The camera works entirely on your device. Video is looked at and immediately discarded — never recorded, never saved, never uploaded. There is no account, no sign-in, no ads, and no server of ours for anything to be sent to. We could not see your child even if we wanted to.
HOW IT WORKS
• Set up your child and pick a few small rewards — choosing the bedtime story, picking the music in the car
• Practise in short rounds at one meal a day
• Good rounds earn tokens; a few tokens swap for a reward you agreed on
• Each reward delivered sends your child's animal to the barn, and they choose the next one — the herd grows with every reward
BUILT TO BECOME UNNECESSARY
Practice moves through four stages — Learning, Practising, Maintaining and Fading out. As the habit forms, rounds get a little longer and rewards take a few more tokens, and every good round still earns one. When your child has it, ChewPaca suggests you stop using the app. That is the point.
MADE FOR FAMILIES
• As many children as you like, each with their own progress and animals
• An optional grown-up PIN keeps settings and bonus tokens in parent hands
• Move everything to a new phone with a file you control
WHEN TO ASK SOMEONE
Some children find closed-mouth chewing genuinely hard — blocked nasal breathing, enlarged tonsils or adenoids, or oral-motor differences. If practice isn't helping after a couple of weeks, ChewPaca says so and suggests a chat with your pediatrician, dentist, or an ENT. Practising will not fix those, and we would rather tell you.
ChewPaca is not a medical, dental, feeding, or swallowing assessment. Stop and seek advice from an appropriate clinician if you have concerns.
