Heemu is an app blocker that turns your screen time into worship.

Open Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or any distracting app, and Heemu stops you for a moment first. A dhikr to count, or an ayah to read. Then you decide whether you still want to scroll.

HOW IT WORKS:
Choose the apps you want to block or limit, like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or anything else that pulls you in. When you open one, Heemu shows a calming intervention screen first. Count a dhikr, or read an ayah with its translation. Then continue if you still need to. You stay in control.

FEATURES:

Tap to count SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, and Allahu Akbar. Build daily streaks.
2. Quran Mode
Read a verse with translation on every pause. Heemu bookmarks your place so you move through the Quran over time.
3. Screen time tracking
See your dhikr count and day streak in a calm dashboard. Add daily screen time too, if you turn on Usage Access.
4. Customisable pause
Set the pause to 5, 7, 10, 15, or 20 seconds.

Personalise the app with different colours.

WHO IT IS FOR:
Anyone who reaches for their phone without thinking. If you have tried app blockers and focus timers before and none of them stuck, Heemu gives you a reason to stop rather than just a wall to hit.

HOW HEEMU USES THE ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE:
Heemu uses Android's AccessibilityService API to read the name of the app that is currently open on your screen. This is what lets Heemu show a mindful pause at the moment you open an app you chose to limit.
Android can also report app usage after the fact, but those statistics arrive seconds late, once you are already scrolling. A pause that shows up then is useless. The Accessibility Service is the only way to catch that moment as it happens, which is why Heemu asks for it and nothing broader.

What Heemu reads:
Only the name of the app in the foreground, so it can be checked against the list of apps you picked yourself.

What Heemu does not read:
Your messages, your passwords, anything you type, or the content of any screen. Heemu does not record or capture your screen.

Where it goes:
Nowhere. The app name is checked on your device and is never collected, stored on our servers, or shared with anyone.

Heemu is not an accessibility tool and is not built for users with disabilities. The service is never switched on by itself. You are asked inside the app first, you choose whether to agree, and you turn it on yourself in Android Settings. You can turn it off at any time, and Heemu keeps working without the pause feature.

APP USAGE ACCESS:
Heemu also asks for Usage Access so it can show your daily screen time statistics. This one is optional. Mindful pauses work without it, and only the statistics will be missing. This is read on your device and is not uploaded.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN:
No ads. We never sell your data. Heemu does not use analytics, crash reporting, or tracking of any kind.
You sign in with your Quran.com account, and your dhikr and ayat counts are saved to your Heemu account so your progress is not lost if you reinstall. Nothing about which apps you open is ever part of that.
