About this app

Helix Anesthesia is a clinical reference for the people who work in the room: CRNAs, anesthesiologists, anesthesiologist assistants, residents and fellows, SRNAs, and students on anesthesia rotations. This app is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition.

It is organized the way a case runs, not the way a textbook is written. You should be able to find a dose one-handed, in seconds, without leaving the patient.

WHAT'S INSIDE

Drug reference — 68 agents
Induction agents, neuromuscular blockers and reversal, vasopressors and inotropes, antiemetics, local anesthetics and more. Adult and pediatric dosing, onset and duration, and the cautions that actually change what you do.

Weight-based calculators
Adult, pediatric and fluid calculators. Enter the weight once and it carries across every calculation. Implausible weights are flagged before they can produce a dose.

Regional blocks — 27 blocks
Interscalene, supraclavicular, infraclavicular, axillary, PECS I & II, serratus anterior plane, erector spinae plane, thoracic paravertebral, TAP, quadratus lumborum, ilioinguinal/iliohypogastric, rectus sheath, femoral, adductor canal, iPACK, popliteal sciatic, ankle, lateral femoral cutaneous, superficial cervical plexus, spinal and epidural. Each with labeled sonoanatomy, needle approach, local anesthetic dosing and complication profiles.

Crisis checklists — 14 protocols
Malignant hyperthermia, local anesthetic systemic toxicity, anaphylaxis, cannot intubate cannot oxygenate, high/total spinal, airway fire, massive transfusion, venous air embolism, bronchospasm, delayed emergence, and the ACLS algorithms. Written to be read under pressure, and available offline.

Surgical cases — 297 procedures
Anesthesia by the operation in front of you, across 22 specialties: surgical context, patient factors, antibiotic prophylaxis, positioning, airway, access, monitoring, emergence and analgesia. Written the way the anesthetic runs rather than as a textbook chapter. Search by the name people actually say. Approaches are shown unranked with their trade-offs, every statement carries its basis on screen, and each case links through to the block, drug or crisis checklist it depends on. Five complete cases are open on the free plan.

WORKS OFFLINE
Drugs, calculators, blocks, crisis checklists and the glossary all work without a connection. Only Ask Helix needs the internet.

WHAT'S FREE
The free plan is permanent, not a trial. It includes every calculator, every crisis checklist, the full drug library and glossary, and 15 AI questions a month — no card, no expiry. Three complete regional blocks (interscalene, TAP, femoral) and five complete surgical cases are open so you can judge the depth before paying. The other blocks show dosing and complications; their ultrasound images, sonoanatomy and technique need a subscription.

SUBSCRIPTION
Monthly or annual, with reduced student pricing for verified SRNAs, residents and students. Billing is handled through our website, and you can cancel any time from Settings.
